Up to one Brisbane woman a fortnight is undergoing a “fringe” gynaecological procedure called G-spot amplification, which promises to enhance sexual gratification.
The procedure involves injecting dermal fillers into the G-spot after anaesthetic, and it is touted as “minimally invasive” and able to “improve sensitivity where you need it most”.
Owners of a Brisbane clinic, believed to be among the first of its kind in the city, said it was a surprisingly popular treatment, with one woman every two weeks coming in for the $900 “climax boost”.

Cosmetic nurse Kate Sowden said women of all ages were having the procedure at her BeautyFULL Cosmetic Medical Clinic in Mt Gravatt, but it was more common in women over the age of 35.
Ms Sowden said the procedure, which involves the injection of hyaluronic acid by a doctor, took about 10 minutes and was “very comfortable for clients”, with results lasting at least four months.

“It’s an all-natural product so there’s a very low risk of having any sort of adverse reaction or anything like that,” she said.
But Australian Medical Association Queensland spokesman and gynaecologist Bill Boyd urged caution, saying no surgical procedure was without risk.
