Shia LaBeouf has apologised after footage emerged of him having an expletive-filled rant against police while he was being arrested in Georgia.
The 31-year-old actor was arrested in a hotel lobby on Saturday (July 8) at 4am by the Savannah Police Department for ‘using profanities and vulgar language in front of the women and children present’ after being denied a cigarette, according to police.

Taking to Twitter, Shia wrote: ‘I am deeply ashamed of my behavior and make no excuses for it. I don’t know if these statements are too frequent, or not shared often enough, but I am certain that my actions warrant a very sincere apology to the arresting officers, and I am grateful for their restraint.

The actor also revealed how he’s struggling with addiction and taking steps towards tackling the problem.
‘My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst,’ Shia added. ‘It is a new low. A low I hope is the bottom.
