Research has revealed that we can reduce anxiety, solve problems and even be more creative – all while we sleep.
It may sound too good to be true but the key, says sleep expert Clare Johnson, is learning the mysterious art of lucid dreaming.

Neuroscientists at the University of Bern in Switzerland believe that because the brain is in a less rational state than when we are awake, lucid dreaming is the perfect environment for creative thinking.

Ditch the alarm

Take a nap
If you don’t have enough sleep at night, the body needs to catch up on dreaming sleep so when you nap you tend to have a light sleep filled with bizarre, vivid dreams.

As the sleep is light, you can become lucid more easily and as the dreams are often strange, you’re more likely to notice you’re dreaming.
