According to a survey carried out in July 2012 by the Sociological Group “Raiting” most of Ukrainians are afraid of: growth of unemployment 44%, economic decline 41%, arbitrariness of authorities 25%, degradation of the population 20%, deterioration of healthcare 20%.
Other threats according to the survey are: environmental disaster 17%, crime rate increase 16%, devaluation of national currency (Hryvnia – UAH) 15%, the division of country 13%, possible loss of Independence 11%, mass migration of Ukrainians abroad 10%.
Less than 10% respondents think that deterioration of education, demographic crisis, coup d’etat, civil war, loss of control over Ukrainian gas transportation system are threats to Ukraine. Around 3% of respondents are afraid of military threat from Russia and terrorism, 1% of Ukrainians are afraid of military threat from the West.
Only 3% of respondents are not afraid of any of mentioned above threats.
