Ukraine will conduct 6 international military drills in 2013

military20exercises_0In 2013 Ukraine will conduct 6 international military drills. The law No. 200/2013 on “Access of Foreign Sates’ Military Units on the Territory of Ukraine” was signed by the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych.

In particular, access for units of armed forces of foreign states on the territory of Ukraine in 2013 will be granted in order to take part in:

  1. Ukrainian-Belarusian drills engaging air defense units (up to 100 troops and up to 7 aircraft);
  2. Ukrainian-Russian drills engaging air defense units (up to 100 troops and up to 7 aircraft);
  3. Ukrainain-Russian drills “Fairway of Peace – 2013” (up to 1000 troops, up to 9 ships, 3 aircraft, 1 submarine, up to 30 APCs/IFVs and trucks);
  4. Ukrainain-American drills “Sea Breeze – 2013” engaging NATO member-states and partners (up to 1500 troops, up to 9 ships, 2 submarines, up to 12 aircraft and up to 50 APCs/IFVs and trucks);
  5. Ukrainian-American drills “Rapid Trident – 2013” engaging (up to 1000 troops, up to 10 helicopters and up to 5 aircraft);
  6. Multinational drills “Maple Arch – 2013” engaging around 400 troops from Canada, Lithuania and Poland.
